The City of Salinas Youth Interns are organizing a Toiletry and Pet Food Drive from July 14th to July 28th. The goal is to collect as many toiletry items as possible to create hygiene kits, which will be distributed to the unhoused community by our Salinas Outreach and Response Team (SORT). We are also collecting non-perishable pet food to give out to their pets!
Donation bins will be set up at the following facilities from July 14th to July 28th - Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm:
City Hall - 200 Lincoln Ave
Finance Department
Administration
Fire Administration
Permit Center - 65 West Alisal Street
Salinas Recreation Center - 320 Lincoln Ave
We are collecting toiletry items like:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Body wash
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Baby Wipes/ Wash Cloths
Feminine Products
Mouthwash
Lotion
Face Wash
Please refrain from donating sharp items such as razors, nail clippers, or scissors.
Through our research, we found that pet food is a necessity for these communities. Therefore, we made sure we included the collection of non-perishable pet food to also care for their pets.
