It’s that time of year again—weed abatement season is here. Code Enforcement officers are working diligently to ensure all properties in Salinas remain in compliance. While weed enforcement occurs year-round, enforcement efforts are intensified from March through June.
Important Dates:
March 2nd: Courtesy letters are sent to property owners who had weed-related cases opened between 2023 and 2025.
March 16th - May 30th: Code Enforcement officers will begin their community outreach by engaging with residents and providing guidance on how to bring their properties into compliance with code standards.
June 1st: Code Enforcement officers will begin issuing citations to properties that did not come into compliance during the outreach period.
