2026 Salinas Youth and Government Institute (YAGI)

Program Overview

The Salinas Youth and Government Institute (YAGI) is a free, hands-on, three-week leadership program for youth interested in government, civic engagement, and community leadership.

Participants will:

  • Learn how local government works
  • Explore important community issues
  • Build leadership and advocacy skills
  • Discover ways to create positive change in their community

Program Details

  • Dates: July 6–24, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  • Location: Salinas City Hall, 200 Lincoln Ave., Salinas, CA
  • Eligibility: Youth ages 14–18 years old
