Bataan Monument Sign Rededication

The City of Salinas invites community members to join us for a special gathering as we rededicate the Bataan Monument Sign at Bataan Park on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

Bataan Park serves as an important reminder of the courage, service, and sacrifice of the men of Company C, 194th Tank Battalion, California National Guard. These servicemen served during World War II and were among those captured in Bataan on April 9, 1942. Their experiences and sacrifices are an important part of our nation's history and hold a special place in the history of the Salinas community.

The rededication of the monument sign provides an opportunity for our community to come together, reflect on this important chapter in history, and honor the men whose service and sacrifice should never be forgotten. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving our local history and sharing these stories with future generations.

The City of Salinas welcomes residents, families, veterans, and community members to join us for this meaningful occasion as we recognize the legacy of the 194th Tank Battalion and reaffirm our commitment to honoring those who came before us.
