Toiletry and Pet Food Drive Published on July 14, 2025 The City of Salinas Youth Interns are organizing a Toiletry and Pet Food Drive from July 14th to July 28th. The goal is to collect as many toiletry items as possible to create hygiene kits, which will be distributed to the unhoused community by our Salinas Outreach and Response Team (SORT). State Fire Marshal's Office Identifies Salinas' Fire Hazard Zones Published on July 02, 2025 The State Fire Marshal is mandated to classify lands within State Responsibility Areas into Fire Hazard Severity Zones (FHSZ). Fire Hazard Severity Zones fall into one of the following classifications: Moderate, High, Very High. Certain parts of Salinas have been identified as locations of concern. Construction Resumes on Boronda Road Published on June 04, 2025 Construction on Phase 1 of the Boronda Road Congestion Relief Project has officially resumed following a delay caused by weather conditions. Crews have entered a preparation period to restart the project, focusing on installing drainage systems and relocating underground utilities. 90-Day Warning Period Officially Underway Published on May 16, 2025 To improve cleanliness for everyone, street sweeping will be improved and more efficient with the addition of no parking signs. From May 5 to July 31, a 90-day warning period will start alerting those who are not abiding by the ‘No Parking’ signs.
